Barbara Casey

Barbara M. Casey, 66, Independence, MO passed away June 22, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 600 N. Liberty, Independence, MO 64050; cremation. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. The family suggests contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Barbara was born May 8, 1946 in Kansas City, MO and grew up in Independence, MO where she was a life-long resident. She was a graduate of William Chrisman High School in the Class of 1964 and worked for Hallmark Cards at Crown Center for over twenty years before retiring in 2010. She enjoyed gardening and cooking but most of all loved her family.
Barbara is survived by son, Shawn Thurston, Independence, MO; brothers Greg Casey and wife Patricia, Blue Springs, MO; Michael Casey and wife Cathy, Buckner, MO; niece Veronica Rainey and husband Jeff, Blue Springs, MO; nephews Gregory Casey, Independence, MO; Clint Casey, Blue Springs, MO; Michael Casey, Buckner, MO; Tyler Casey, Blue Springs MO; great-niece Ashleigh Patrick and great-nephews Spencer Patrick & Caleb Lunchford.
