Boyd W. Casey, 80, of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2004 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2004 at St. Mary�s Catholic Church. A graveside interment services will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday at the St. Charles Cemetery in Bevier, MO. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Boyd was born November 15, 1923 in Harrison, AR to Walter and Virgie (Young) Casey. He was a veteran of U.S. Army having served in WWII. He was a member of the local Steelworkers Union and had worked most recently as a Crane Operator for Armco Steel Company for 31 years before he retired in 1974. He was a member of St. Mary�s Catholic Church. He was married to Minnie Bianco, she precedes him in death. Survivors include; a daughter, Barbara Casey of Independence, MO; 2 sons, Gregory Casey of Blue Springs, MO and Michael Casey of Buckner, MO; 6 grandchildren, Veronica Patrick and Shawn Thurston of Independence, MO, Gregory Casey II, Clint Casey and Tyler Casey all of Blue Springs and Michael Casey of Buckner and 2 great grandchildren, Ashley Patrick and Spencer Patrick.
