Earl Edward Casey, Jr., 82, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013. A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 18th at St. Cyril Catholic Church; 11231 Chicago St., Sugar Creek, MO. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, MO. Earl was born November 9, 1931 in Kansas City, MO to Juanita (Rodgers) and Earl Edward Casey, Sr. as one of eight children. He attended St. Ann’s Catholic School and graduated high school from Glennon. Later, he enlisted in the Marines where he proudly served his country as Sergeant. He married Martha (Fye) and together they raised five children. Earl worked as a typesetter in the printing industry for over 30 years and for the U.S. Postal Service for over 22 years. As a devoted Irishman, he, along with Jack O’Renick, established the Sugar Creek Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. He was also a parishioner of St. Cyril’s for almost 60 years. Earl is remembered as loving, funny, and a friend to everyone. He is loved and will be missed by all. Earl is survived by wife, Martha of the home; son, Earl E. Casey, III and wife Eileen of Rich Hill, MO; sons, John Casey and Jeff Casey both of Independence, MO; daughter Stacey Steger and husband Stephen of Lima Peru; Earl was preceded in death by beloved son, Dennis but is survived by his son’s fiance, Cindy Floyd of AR; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings, Betty Coen of Sugar Creek; Pat Stefancik and husband Mike; Michael Casey; Ethel Pender and husband Steve of Kingston, WA; Tom Casey and wife Marci of Odessa, MO; Sue Watters and husband Jack of Klamath Falls, OR; Mary Weiss and husband Jim of Ft.
