Trinidad "Trino" Castillo

Trinidad "Trino� Castillo, 69, of Independence, MO passed away Monday April 19, 2004 at North Kansas City Hospital. Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, April 23, 2004 at Geo. C. Carson and Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Salvation Army or the charity of choice benefiting the country of Honduras. Trino was born August 14, 1934 to Ladislao and Maria (Medina) Castillo in Honduras, Central America. Mr. Castillo was born into a large family and came to the United States in 1963. He married Ruth Rippey in 1967, became a citizen in 1971 and joined the church in 1977. Mr. Castillo was a member of the South Crysler Restoration Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ. Trino enjoyed spending time fishing, working on cars and helping others. Mr. Castillo retired from Amoco Oil Refinery in 1991 after 20 years of service. Trino is survived by his wife Ruth; son Sidney; grandsons Jacob and Joseph; brother Manuel Castillo; sister Maria Gosling; 5 sisters and 2 brothers living in Honduras; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both locally and in Honduras. Mr. Castillo was preceded in death by his parents, son Steven Castillo and 2 sisters.
