Cecilia "Suzie" Marie Rabideau

January 11, 1941 — September 17, 2024

Cecilia Marie Rabideau, affectionately known as "Suzie," was born on January 11, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri. She peacefully passed away on September 17, 2024, in North Kansas City, Missouri, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service that touched the lives of many.

Suzie met her husband, Bob, on a blind date while he was serving in the United States Navy. Their connection was immediate, leading to a swift marriage just twenty-one days later. They shared an incredible 66 years together, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Summers were spent at their beloved lake house at Upper Post Lake, Wisconsin, a place where family and friends gathered to create lasting moments. For the last 30 years, they have been snowbirds spending winters in Texas where they made memories and lifetime friends. Suzie's commitment to helping others was evident throughout her career as a registered nurse, a profession she embraced with unwavering passion and dedication. She earned her bachelor's of science after all four of her daughters were in school. She spent this portion of her life nurturing and caring for those in need, showcasing her kind and generous heart in everything she did. Her personal life was equally remarkable.

Suzie was a vibrant member of her community, known for her strong opinions and active participation in various groups and societies. She volunteered tirelessly at local schools and engaged in numerous historical societies, embodying a strong sense of justice and equality. Her commitment to her community did not go unnoticed, as she often took on leadership roles, demonstrating her passion for positive change. Suzie was a lifetime parishioner at Saint Mark's Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic minister, knitted palls for infant funeral services, provided food for funeral lunches, and worked on the Saint Joseph’s table. In addition to her community involvement, Suzie enjoyed a myriad of hobbies. She took great pleasure in quilting, reading, and being a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious, and she inspired many through her actions and words.

Suzie's passing is preceded by her parents, Guy and Margaret “Peg” Elliott; her daughter, Teresa Rabideau; and her son-in-law, Richard Wollschlager. Her legacy lives on through her husband, Robert "Bob" Rabideau; her daughters, Vicki Handley (Jeff), Sherry Wollschlager, and Julie Davis (Clay); her brother, Donnie Elliott (Tanya), as well as seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
