L. Graham Chamblin

January 1, 1921 — September 7, 2005

L. Graham Chamblin, 84, Lake Lotawana, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2005 after a short illness. He was a fighter to the very end. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, September 12, at the Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church; entombment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be 4-7:00 pm Sunday at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th, Independence, MO. Mr. Chamblin was born January 1, 1921, in Elmira, MO, to Aaron and Iva (Graham) Chamblin. In 1942 he married Helen (Hays) Chamblin, who survives him. Graham was a 1939 graduate of Liberty High School and attended Finlay Engineering College earning a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He was retired from Industrial Insulations, Inc. which he founded in 1959. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Ararat Shrine Temple and the Flying Fez. He was a Colonel in the Confederate Air Force and a founding member. He was a member of A.O.P.A., NIA, Combat Air Museum, Missouri Yacht Club, Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church and a WW II Veteran (naval aviation). Graham was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Chamblin. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Pauline and Gil Hesemann of Columbia, MO, sister Betty Cross of Phoenix, AZ, daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and Sean Connor of Parkville, MO, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Jeff Bone of Lake St. Louis, MO, son and daughter-in-law Tim and Melissa Chamblin of Lake Lotawana, MO, grandchildren Chris, Kiele and Jack Connor, Ashley and Austin Bone, Amanda Chamblin and Graysen Chamblin and many nieces and nephews. Graham loved the outdoors, particularly hunting and visiting his farm. He also loved the lake life, having resided at Lake Lotawana for over 50 years. He leaves behind his hunting dog, Adolph.
