Daisy Ruth (Kimbrough) Chandler, age 93, passed away peacefully in her home in Blue Springs, Missouri on June 5, 2017, with her family by her side. The family will greet friends from 1 to 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m., Friday at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Daisy was born on February 22, 1924 on her plantation home in Florence, Alabama. She was the daughter of Richard Arthur and Florence Ethel Fowler Kimbrough. Daisy married John T. Chandler on April 3, 1941. To this union 4 children were born. John David Chandler, (deceased), Harold Wayne Chandler, of Independence, Linda Sue Chandler Close of Blue Springs, and Donnie Ray Chandler (Marie) of Springfield Missouri. John and Daisy had 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 23 great great grandchildren. Her main passion in life was being a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, and homemaker and preparing huge family dinners. She was a member of the Saucy Red Hatters and loved going out to eat with the ladies. She worked for the Ruskin Heights School District and later in life did demo's for HyVee and Price Chopper. Daisy was a born again Christian and was of the Baptist faith. She loved the Lord, and her children can remember her getting on her knees every morning before school and prayed for their safety. Daisy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 71 years, her oldest son John David, her four brothers and 3 sisters, Richard Timothy, Blanche Marie, Jessee Mauten, Lena Inez, James Monroe, Richard Arthur Junior, Willie Pearline, and great granddaughter Jessica Elizabeth Chandler.
