Virginia Chaney

Virginia Chaney, 87, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Independence Manor Care Center. A visitation will be from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, with services immediately following at 11:00; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family suggests that contributions be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006.
Virginia was born July 31, 1920 to Joseph and Virginia (Banks) Hawkins. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Country Meadows Baptist Church. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2005 and is survived by two daughters, Diane Cooper and husband Wesley, and Carol Karle; grandchildren Douglas and Melissa Schumpert, Wesley Ann Cooper, Jennifer and Eric Metzdorf, Allison and Gary Moore, and Chris Weinreich; great-granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Schumpert; great-grandson Graeme Metzdorf; and numerous nieces and nephews
