Lois Charles

Lois Delene (Petree) Charles, age 94, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday July 26, 2022 at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Oak Grove, MO. Cremation is planned and a celebration of her life to be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Inurnment will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery. She was born March 25, 1928 in Latham, MO and married Samuel Ned Charles on June 4, 1948 in Fortuna, Mo. Ned preceded her in death on April 21, 2015. Lois was the seventh child of Charley and Belle Petree. Also preceding her in death were four sisters; Irene, Beulah, Mildred, and Virginia, as well as two brothers; Gilbert and Johnnie. Survivors include two sons; Randy Charles of Kansas City, MO and Rick (Pam) Charles of Blue Springs, MO, two grandsons Patrick (Ali) Charles of St. Louis, MO and Len Charles of Blue Springs, MO. She also has three great grand-daughters; Adrianna, Claire, and Eleanor. Lois was a woman of strong faith and her love for God was known by all who knew her. She was a former member of Fortuna Baptist Church, Maywood Baptist Church, Beverly Hills Baptist Church, and Baptist Temple. She enjoyed family reunions, tending her flowers, camping, traveling, and church activities. she departed this life knowing she was going to her heavenly home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior.
