Dave Eugene Cheek - 10-14-44 to 6-17-06. Dave passed away this past Saturday at Independence Regional Health Center after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Dave was a resident of the Kansas City area for most of his life. He was a Foreman at Clay and Bailey Mfg. Co. in Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked for more than thirty years.
Dave was a lifelong Harley Davidson enthusiast. He also enjoyed antique gun and knife collections and he was a collector of old military memorabilia, mostly from the Second World War. Dave was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his children, David Cheek and Tammy Lynn Cheek, and their combined eight grandchildren, all of Independence, Missouri. He is also leaving behind his brothers, Robert Cheek and Elmer Cheek, of Rich Hill, Missouri and numerous nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, June 19, 2006 at Carson Speaks Chapel, 1501 West Lexington in Independence, Missouri. The Funeral will be Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 9:00 am, also at the Carson Speaks Chapel in Independence. The graveside service will be at 3:00 pm on Tuesday in the Ira Cemetery near Eldridge, Missouri. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Dave�s sense of humor, dry wit and unique view of the world will be dearly missed.
