Cheryl Lee (Helmer) King passed from this life to eternal life on March 16, 2025. Cheryl was born on July 28, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri to David R. and Jean M. Helmer.
She grew up in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in the class of 1966.
She married Alfred C. (A.C.) King, Jr., on January 24, 1970. They were married for just over 48 years before A.C. passed in March 2018. They raised their two daughters, Jeanie King and Janel King and lived in Independence, Missouri from 1975 until their passing.
Cheryl was a devoted wife and mother who was always there when we needed her. She was stern when necessary, and supportive when someone was in need. She loved taking care of others. She only had two children, but there were many she was a mother figure for at times. She loved having babies around and watched many of her nieces and nephews over the years. She loved to sew and create many types of crafts. She was an avid Chiefs fan and watched every game she could with family and friends. She was so loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Cheryl is survived by daughters Jeanie King and Janel King, her siblings Jim Helmer, Jeri Phillips and John Helmer, and many other family members and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by: Alfred C. (A.C.) King, Jr. (husband), her parents and her brother Bill Helmer.
