He was born January 4, 1946 in Independence, MO to Edward Duane (Sr.) and Margaret Louise (Horne) Childress. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Russell Childress. He is survived by two brothers, Darrell “Joe” and Edward “Duane” Childress; and one sister, Diane Kinnear.
