Steven T. Childress, 40, New Palestine, IN, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away Sept. 3, 2006
Steven was born Oct. 26, 1965 in Kansas City, MO. He was baptized in the R.L.D.S. Church at the age of 12, and graduated from Truman High School in 1984. He began his career as a machinist for Brunson Instruments in Independence, MO. Most recently, he had worked for Rolls-Royce Co. since 1996. He was a proud member of U.A.W. Local #933 and a member of Masonic Lodge Cumberland #726.
Steven is survived by his mother and step-father Anita K. and Charles E. Fairchild, Independence; father and step-mother Edward D. and Anna Childress, Olive Branch, MS; brother Daniel D. Childress, Lee�s Summit, MO; sister Metta Wickham; brother Chad E. Childress and wife Allison, all of Independence; step-brother Dale Fairchild and wife Debbie, Missouri City, MO; nephews Spencer Childress, Dexter Wickham, Bailey Childress and niece Emma Childress.
Services will be 2 pm, Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6- 8 pm, Sat. at the funeral home where a Masonic Service will take place at 7 pm. The family suggests contributions to Wayside Waifs.
