Frank Damian Cholak, 73, of Sugar Creek, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021.
Frank was born on November 3, 1948, in Independence, Missouri, son of Michael and Anna (Toth) Cholak, he was one of 7 children.
Frank attended Van Horn High School before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corp. which included serving in Vietnam with Charlie Co. 1st battalion 4th Marine regiment, 3rd Marine division. After returning home he was employed with Lafarge for 33 years before retiring.
Frank enjoyed playing softball in his younger years and did a little fishing with his son Anthony. He was a great cook and often preparing his Mom’s (soupy noodles). Later in life you could often find Frank home, watching television and enjoying his retirement. Most of all his enjoyment though came from spending time with his grandchildren. Frank will be greatly missed.
Frank is survived by his son, Anthony (Carrie) Cholak; grandchildren, Blake Cholak, Canon Cholak, Chloe McCoy; sisters, Veronica Powell, Geniveve (Robert) Pinter; loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Anna Cholak; and siblings, JoAnn Cholak, Patricia Weaver, Phillip Cholak, Michael Cholak, Jr.
A visitation will be held Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Carson – Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Missouri 64052. Family will greet guest between the hours of 5-7 pm.
A graveside inurnment with honors will be scheduled for a later date.
