Icel Maxine (Weibers) Choplin, 85 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the St. Luke’s Hospice House. Cremation is planned with a private graveside inurment to be held in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Donations may be made in her name to Lifepoint Services P.O. Box 495 Independence, MO 64051 or to St. Luke’s Hospice House, 3516 S. Summit St., Kansas City, MO 64111 Icel was born December 23, 1931 in Fleming, CO to Lloyd and Cecil (Sloan) Weibers. She graduated from public school in Fleming and later received a bachelor’s in Accounting from William Jewell College. She and her husband owned and operated J&I Enterprises Inc. for a number of years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, Gardening and spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Country Meadows Baptist Church. Survivors include; 2 sons, John Choplin and wife Cindy of Grandview, MO and Joe Choplin and wife Betty of Kansas City, MO; 2 daughters, Betty Woodside of NM and Patty Rude and husband Terry of Gladstone, MO; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 5 siblings, Betty Parsons of Michigan, Rose Sloan of Denver, CO, Don Weibers and wife Cheryl of South Dakota, Gay Weibers and wife Pat and Jim Weibers all of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Choplin in 2013, her parents 3 brothers, 3 sisters, a son in law, Charles "Tony" Woodside and a granddaughter, Cheri Ann Choplin.
