Patricia Ann Christensen (Netherton)

Patricia Christensen, 75, of Lee’s Summit, Mo passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2015. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Monday, December 14, 2015 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral Services will be 10am Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Ascension Lutheran Church 4900 Blue Ridge Blvd, KC, MO 64133. Patricia was born on July 21, 1940 to Kenneth and Mary (Stump) Netherton in Independence, MO. She was employed with the Federal Reserve Bank for over 40 years. Patricia was a fore runner in a position that was traditionally held by men, where she excelled. She had been a member of Ascension Lutheran Church for over 30 years. Patricia was an avid Bridge player and a wonderful gardener. She deeply enjoyed her time with the Garden Club. First and foremost in Patricia’s life was that of her family. She was affectionately known as “Beemie” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Patricia was lovingly called the matriarch of the family who will be missed greatly. Survivors include; daughter Kim Smith and husband Mark; son Don Gerdts and wife Sonia; son Kent Gerdts and wife Julie; her 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; stepdaughter Kim Dodgen; stepson Kent Christensen and wife Kim, and their grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Karen Olson and husband Greg; brother Tom Netherton and wife Melody; extended family and a host of friends. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Prevo, and husband Ken Christensen.
