Mark Sessel Clark, 48, Oak Grove, MO passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Burial will follow at Lobb Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the children’s trust fund.
Mark was born June 5, 1963 in Peoria, IL the son of Sessel and Violet (Fuqua) Clark. He was a 1981 graduate of Du Quoin High School, Du Quoin, IL. Mark graduated from SIU (Southern Illinois University) in 1989 with his Doctorate, and completed his medical and pediatrics residency at Truman Medical Center and Children’s Mercy. He also completed his Pulmonary Fellowship at Truman Medical Center. He was a partner at Jackson County Pulmonary. Mark was a member of the Blue Springs Christian Church, Fellow of American College of Chest Physicians and Ducks Unlimited. Mark enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, boating and hunting, he especially loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his loving wife Kelly Clark of 17 years; children, Gabrielle, Zachary and Allyson; mother Violet Clark; sister, Vickie Harsy; brother Milton “Lavern” Clark and numerous nieces, nephews and family.
