Ray Edward Clark, Jr., 60, of Grain Valley, MO peacefully passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011 with his family by his side. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Community of Christ Open Arms Congregation, 1101 W. Walnut, Independence, MO 64050. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 6405 Metcalf #204, Overland Park, KS 66202. Ray was born September 9, 1950 in Kansas City, MO to Ray and Jewell (Johnston) Clark, the oldest of eight children. He loved kids and his grandchildren were the light of his life! Mr. Clark was an avid deer hunter in his spare time and was certified to teach hunter safety classes. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Twila (Milburn) Clark; son Mark Clark; daughter Dana Powell (James); grandchildren Kevin Clark, Sabrina Mertell, Nathaniel Powell; mother Jeanie Robinson (Andrew); siblings Theda Steenstry (John), Lawrence Clark (Lynn), Vicky Adkins (Robert), Ronald Clark, Karmaletta Driscol (Richard), Randy Clark (LaDona); and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Ray; and brother David.
