John S. “Jack” Clements, 84, of Independence, MO, passed away, Friday, October 26, 2007 at his residence. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Tuesday at the chapel. Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research or to the South Care Hospice. Jack was born December 2, 1922 in Gilliam, MO to Marion and Catherine (Winning) Clements. He moved to Independence in 1951 and had worked for several years for the Brotherhood of Boilermaker’s Union Local #83 until on the job injury forced him to retire in 1981. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He enjoyed fishing, welding and did volunteer work at his church. He was a member of the Englewood Assembly of God. He was married to Bettie Adcock on March 16, 1951, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; 3 sons, John Clements, Jr. and his wife Diane of Independence, MO, Chuck Clements and his wife Evon of Blue Springs, Mo and Keith Clements and his wife Linda of Rusk, TX; 2 daughters, Nancy Catherine Clements and her companion Donald Doolin of Independence, MO and Connie Holt and her husband Jeff of Lee’s Summit, MO; 2 brothers, Joe Clements of Miami, MO and W.E. Clements of Slater, MO; 2 sisters, Alice Phillips and Esther Rhea Peel both of Slater, MO; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
