Cliff Cloyd, 79, of Independence, MO passed away November 9, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, at New Walnut Community of Christ Congregation. Cliff was born March 30, 1938 in McAlester, OK to Ed and Zella Cloyd. He graduated from Central Missouri University, and went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1955-1959, as a radio operator. Upon moving to Missouri, he worked at the U.S. Postal Service. He was a minister with the Community of Christ. Cliff had a deep love for people and a burning desire to bring people to Christ. As a Seventy, he worked in the Kansas City Northeast area until he retired in 2005. He then joined the Volunteer Independence Police Services (VIPS) and enjoyed working with the Independence Police Department in various capacities. Cliff is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rosa Cloyd; sister, Roberta Morrison of Clearwater, FL; three children by prior marriages, Cliff B. “C.B.” and Cindy Cloyd of Oklahoma, Jeff Lindle and Suzan Cloyd Lindle of Lake of the Ozarks, and LaVeda Cloyd of Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
