Earney "LeRoy� Coatney, 63, of Sibley, MO, passed away, Friday, November 21, 2003 at his residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2003 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday evening at the chapel. Memorials may be made to Kansas City Hospice. LeRoy was born November 28, 1939 in Elkton, MO to Earney Everett and Mildred Ileane (Parker) Coatney. He graduated high school from Fort Osage High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a self-employed construction worker. Prior to that he worked at Lake City Ammunition Plant Remington Arms Company. He was a member of the Model A. Club and the Pilots Club. He was married to Olivia Brawner on December 31, 1963 and would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; a son, Bryon Coatney of Buckner; 2 daughters, Christine Bridges and her husband Ronald of Buckner and Carol Prettyman and her husband Steven of Lone Jack, MO; his parents, Earney and Mildred Coatney of Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Patsy Hollingsworth and her husband Robert of Blue Springs and Jackie Cox and her husband Roy of Odessa, MO; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Dean Coatney in 1981.
