Ruth Ellen Coleman, 76, Independence, MO passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO 64052. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassion Care Hospice.
Ruth was born April 1, 1936 in Fair Play, MO the daughter of Bert Kimball and Jessie Mae (Abbott) Hunter. She was a past member of Mt. Grove Baptist Church. Ruth retired from the IRS in 1997. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, baking and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Hunter and her parents.
Survivors include her loving husband Wayne of 57 years; daughter, Debbie Orndoff and husband Mike, Marva Jo Johnson and husband Pat, Donna Bongiovanni and husband Phil, and Bobbi Burnett; grandchildren, Chris Manley, Amy Scarborough and husband Steve, Eric Dold, Jason Orndoff, Anna and Katee Burnett; great grandson, Trenton; sister, Helen Emshwiller; and brothers, Billy, Joe and Max Hunter.
