Leland Voyd Collins

Leland Collins, 70, of Independence, MO passed away August 1, 2019. Memorial services will be 2 pm Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 2820 M-291 Frontage Rd Independence, MO 64057.. Leland was born on January 31, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Thomas and Mary (Davis) Collins. He had been a long- time employee of Fred Williams Heating & Cooling. For over 25 years Leland was a Patriarch Evangelist and Minister with the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In his spare time Leland enjoyed spending time with his family, singing gospel hymns, and sharing his wonderful sense of humor. Survivors include: wife of 52 years, Darlene Collins (Johnson); son Eric Collins and his wife Angela; daughter Wendy Ussrey and her husband Jess; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; mother Mary Collins; brothers Rudy Collins, Charles Collins and his wife Brenda and Mark Collins; extended family and friends. Leland is preceded in death by his father Thomas Collins. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
