Martha L. Collins, 72, of Independence, MO, passed away Monday, October 20, 2003 at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 23, 2003 at the St. Mark�s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery in Independence, MO. There will be a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Speaks Midtown Chapel followed by a visitation to 8:30 p.m. at the chapel. Memorial may be made to the Odyssey Hospice Health Care, Ararat Shrine Transportation Fund or to St. Mark�s Catholic Church. Martha was born June 12, 1931 in Port Arthur, TX to Walter L. and Martha Idella (Walker) Smith. She had worked for 25 years for TWA retiring in 1984 as a analyst. She was a member of the Ararat Shrine Needle Guild, the Grandview Shrine Club, the Provost Club and the Does Elks Club in Kansas City, MO. She was also a member of the St. Mark�s Catholic Church. She is survived by; her husband Dennis Collins of the home; 2 sons, Gerald D. Collins and his wife Brenda of Blue Springs, MO and Kevin M. Collins of Independence, MO; 3 grandchildren, Sabrina Collins, Jeff Collins and Heather Yarborough and 1 great granddaughter, Hadley Yarborough.
