Mary Virginia “Ginger” Collins, 77, Independence, MO passed away Aug. 27, 2013. Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 am before the service at the chapel. Ginger was born Jan. 21, 1936 in Cape Girardeau, MO and graduated from Warrensburg, High School. She attended CMSU. She and her husband, Jim, were in the antiquing business for over thirty years and owned an antique shop called Cricket’s Cupboard in the Englewood District and later in Blue Springs for over twenty years. Ginger and Jim enjoyed square dancing and belonged to different square dancing clubs over the years. She also belonged to a bridge club at one time. Ginger is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years Jim Collins, of the home; daughter Jennifer Lockwood, Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren Brian Lockwood and wife Erin, Independence, MO; Andrew Lockwood; Jenna Lockwood and fiancée Cody Minnis all of Blue Springs, MO; great-grandchildren Kaylee, Caleb, Myla and many friends and family at the Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence.
