Richard D. Collins

Rick Collins, 49, Of Independence, MO passed away December 26, 2006 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be immediately before service starting at 9:00 am. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Rick was born in Kansas City, MO on September 14, 1957 to Laymon and Lorene (Krantz) Collins. Rick was a strong man, overcoming many hardships throughout his life. He never gave up the fight, and fought to the end. He was also a very caring and big hearted person, and would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. Left behind to forever mourn his passing, son Ricky Collins, daughter RicaDonna Crowell and husband Mark, mother Lorene Davis, sisters Caroline Nevels and husband Richard, Rita Jenkins and husband Cory, brother James Collins, and 2 grandchildren, Samantha and Ethan Crowell all of Independence. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, including Cody Collins, Jake Collins, and Heather Hunsucker.
