James S. "Jim" Colmer Jr.

January 21, 1956 — December 7, 2017

James Colmer, 61, of Kansas City, MO passed away December 7, 2017. A visitation will be held from 4-5:00 p.m., followed by a 5:00 p.m. celebration of life service on Friday, December 15, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. There will be a private burial at Blue Springs Cemetery. Jim was born January 21, 1956 in Kansas City, MO. He was a born again Christian. Jim was the owner/operator of JDL Lawn Service for many years. He loved to read all kinds of books. He loved analyzing everything he read in his bible. Jim had an engineering mind and was always thinking of ways to improve things around him. Jim would often go out of his way to help customers, friends and family. His love of music and booming laugh will be missed by all who knew him. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Merle Linck (Joe Linck); father, James Stanley Colmer, Sr. (Doris Colmer); and sister, Carol Anne Moore. He is survived by his soulmate and partner, Lisa Webb; three children, Leah Smith (Jordan), David Colmer (Hannah), Laura Williams (Ryan); sisters, Debbie Cash (Charlie) and Cathy Pollard (Jim); brother, Chris Beaber (Jeri); five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
