Jospehine Marie Comboy, 88, of Independence, Mo. completed her journey with us on September 20th to join her parents, brothers, sisters and numerous friends who await her in heaven. A Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Carson-Speaks Chapel on Winner Road followed by a visitation until 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Independence. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Josephine was born in Independence, Missouri on October 15, 1917 the daughter of Theodore L. and Maude (Wiswell) Comboy. Josephine was a kind and caring person and was her mother�s caregiver for many years. She enjoyed reading and going out with friends. She was very devoted to her church and was an active volunteer at St. Mary�s Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Guild. Josephine was retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company where she was an Executive Secretary. She previously worked in the offices of William Chrisman High School, Folgers and Vendo. Miss Comboy was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Edwin, Dr. Lawrence, William and John and by three sisters, Sister Mary Theodore, Sister Mary Edwina and Elizabeth. She is survived by a sister-in-law Joy (Comboy) Geerken of New Orleans and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and countless friends. Her family suggests memorial contributions in her memory in lieu of flowers to the Little Sisters of the Poor or to St. Mary�s Catholic Church.
