James R. "Boy" Combs

James R. Combs "Boy�, 66, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at KU Medical Center. Services will be 10 am Tuesday, June 22nd at George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home; with interment in Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home. Jim was born August 5, 1937 in Kansas City, MO to James Nathan Combs and Mildred Roxcine Warren Combs. Jim retired after nearly 40 years as a truck driver for Botsford Ready Mix. He was a veteran of the US Navy; a member of Teamsters Local #541; and a former member of the Independence Eagles Lodge #385. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janice Combs; son, James R. Combs, Jr. and his wife Ann of Holt, MO; daughters, Lisa N. Rainwater and husband Jess of Buckner, MO, Rebecca S. Galbreath and husband Kenneth of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Jenny, Jessica, Katie, Brittany, Nathan, Courtn�, Kody, Christina, Kayla, Thomas James, and an expected great grandson; a brother, William J. "Brother Bill� Combs and wife Glenda of Independence, MO; and nieces and nephews.
