Janice Sue Combs, 64, of Independence, MO, passed away Friday, January 6, 2006 at her residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2005 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday evening at the chapel. Janice was born June 21, 1941 in Independence, MO to Calvin and Lula (Smith) Young. She was a lifelong area resident having graduated from William Chrisman High School. She had worked for over 20 years in the warehouse for Sears& Roebuck Company until she retired in 1993. She was a member of the Sterling Acres Baptist Church. She was a dedicated grandmother who enjoyed the computer and other outdoor activities. She was married to James R. Combs, Sr. who died in 2004. Survivors include; a son, James R. Combs, Jr and his wife Ann of Holt, MO; a daughter, Rebecca Sue Galbreath and her husband Kenneth of Independence, MO; a step daughter, Lisa Rainwater and her husband Jess of Buckner, MO; grandchildren, Jenny, Jessica, Katie, Brittany, Nathan, Courtne�, Cody, Christina, Kayla and Thomas James "TJ�; a great grandson, Gabe; 2 brothers, Billy Young and his wife Carol of Huntsville, AR and Tom Young and his wife Lynda of Kingsville, MO; 2 sisters, Marilyn Hupman and Joyce Belman both of Independence, MO; a sister-in-law, Judy Young of Independence, MO and her loving dog Sadie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Gary Young.
