Martha Gaynell Coney (Baumgardner)

Martha Coney, 84, daughter of John Richard Baumgardner & Martha Elizabeth Baumgardner was born April 23, 1929 in Fort Worth, Texas. Martha went to her heavenly home on December 22, 2013. Visitation will begin at 8:30 am, Friday, Dec. 27 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO. 64055 with funeral services immediately following at 9:00 am. Martha will be laid to rest at 11:00 am at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas.
Martha married James M. Coney, Sr. February 14, 1948 in Dallas, Texas. She and Jim shared 53 years together raising their 4 children and serving the Lord. Martha enjoyed gardening, teaching at Covenant Life Christian Academy and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband, James M. Coney, Sr.; parents, John and Martha Baumgardner; brother, John Walter Baumgardner; sister, Ida Ellen Baumgardner and son, James M. Coney Jr. Martha is survived by her three children, Robert Joe Coney and wife Sue of Houston, Mo.; John Coney and wife Darlene of Olathe, Ks.; Judy Coney Cervantes and husband Louie of Gladstone, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren and two sisters Betty Greenway of Fort Davis, Texas and Jane Adams of New Brockton, Ala., as well as many nieces and nephews. Martha will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
