Janet Elizabeth Conway (Bufka)

Janet Elizabeth Conway, of Independence, MO passed away on Monday, July 12th, 2021. She was 79 years old.

A visitation will be held 1-2pm, Friday, July 16, 2021 with a funeral service to be held at 2pm Friday, July 16, 2021, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64050. Burial will follow funeral service and will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence, Missouri.

Janet was born June 2, 1942 in Marrin County, Missouri to Tony and Flora (Kaiser) Bufka. Janet grew up on a farm in New Florence, Missouri with her 6 siblings. After graduating high school she married Richard Conway and then moved to Independence, Missouri. From their union came 2 sons, Scott and Jeff.

Janet had such a zest for life! She loved to go dancing and out to eat with family and friends. She loved her flowers and had an amazing sense of humor. Janet loved angels and over the years has accumulated quite a collection. Most of all though, Janet loved her family. She loved being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her favorite thing was family get togethers and hosting for the holidays. As long as they were close, she was happy, often spoiling them with presents from her favorite, QVC. Janet was a very strong independent woman, who gave so much love and will be greatly missed, but comfort is taken knowing the family now has their very own, very special angel.

Janet is survived by her sons, Scott (Tanya) Conway, Jeff (Nancy) Conway; grandchildren, Andrea (Eric) Humbel, Lindsey Conway, Cameron (Courtney) Conway, Jessica Conway; great grandchildren, Macy Humbel, Gabriel Hernandez, Ronin Conway; 4 siblings, Audrey, Jim, Alan and Donnie; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Flora Bufka; two brothers, Neil and Eugene Bufka; and her children’s father, Richard Conway.
