CAROL COOK
Carol Cook passed away on August 15, 2018 at St. Luke’s East Hospital at the age of eighty-nine years. Carol attended Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated in 1946. Afterwards she attended business college while working at ATT as a telephone operator. At the age of nineteen she met Richard Cook, a tall dark and handsome sailor home from WWII who was attending UMKC (then known as Kansas City College) where he was studying accounting and economics. After a two and half year romance and courtship they were married in January of 1951 and were together ever since, "until death do us part", they were married for sixty-seven years. Carol and Richard brought three children into this world and raised them in Independence, Missouri; Richard Jr. Cook (Nancy), David Cook and Lynda Cook. Carol's three children remain in Independence; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren live around the USA. Carol was an excellent cook and homemaker giving her love and support to her husband, children and her grandchildren. She worked at area hospitals in the admitting department. She was active in Christian Women's Club bible studies and fellowship with Stonecroft Ministries (Stonecroft.org). In her early marriage she was involved in children's church ministry, VBS for many summers, and later in life worked in the prayer ministry at Noland Road Church (https://gatheringkc.com/noland-road/). Her family is grieving her passing, yet rests in the hope knowing she is with her Lord Jesus Christ and heavenly Father in heaven. As the scriptures promise those who are of faith; who are "absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8 NKJV. Memorial services for Carol Cook will be on Saturday, August 25 at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Noland Road Baptist Church (Gathering at Noland Road).
