George “Junior” Cooper, 81, of Kansas City, MO passed away Christmas morning. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral to be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Suburban Chapel. Burial at Mt. Olivet. A wake is to be held immediately following at the home. George was born on February 17, 1926 in Longwood, MO to George D. and Martha M. (Anderson) Cooper. He was a decorated hero serving during WWII in the United States Army. George then went to work for Sheffield Steel where he retired. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Chapin) Cooper; one son, Dana E. Cooper and wife Linda Marks; one daughter, Mary K. and husband Noel Kennedy; grandson, Cormac A. Kennedy; two nieces, Wanda Mayes and Nancy Houchens; one nephew, Ralph Curry; and many extended family members.
