Ruth Marie Cooper (Gore)

Ruth Marie (Gore) Cooper, 86, Grain Valley, MO formerly of Independence, MO, walked peacefully and painlessly into the arms of Jesus April 17, 2016. Memorial services will be 1 pm, Sat., April 23 at Eastside Baptist Church, 19901 MO-78, Independence, inurnment at Six Mile Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm before the service at the church. The family requests contributions to Eastside Baptist Church. Ruth was born Oct. 26, 1929 to Luke and Nellie Gore and was a lifelong Independence resident until 2015. She was an amazing mother and Godly woman whose gracious and fun-loving personality touched many lives. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and was a past member of Maywood Baptist and Six Mile Baptist Churches. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and high school sweetheart, Omar Cooper, her parents and brother Maynard Gore. She is survived by daughters Connie Barker and Beverly Stark; son Larry Cooper (Teresa); sister Judy Williams; grandchildren: Robb Barker (Erica), Jason Barker, Kristen Williams (Cory), Ryan Barker (Jessica); Thomas Cooper (Tanna), Joanna Munson, April Foster (Adam), Chad Stark (Jessica), Scott Stark; nineteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
