Duane Jene Copeland

Duane Copeland, 18, of Lee�s Summit, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2005. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May, 28, 2005 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 1200 SW Blue Parkway, Lee�s Summit, MO. Cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Tribe of Mic-O-Say, 10210 Holmes, Kansas City, MO 64131. Duane was born October 30, 1986 in North Kansas City, MO to Jeffrey E. and Geri E. (Ridens) Copeland. He graduated recently from Summit Ridge Academy and had plans to further his education in the future. Duane loved to eat and he worked at Jumpin� Catfish in Lee�s Summit over the last several years. He was fun loving, always attempting to make others laugh and pulling pranks. He had been involved with the Boy Scouts Troop #226 in Independence, MO and enjoyed white water rafting. Duane is survived by his mother Geri "Elynn� Copeland of the home; father Jeffrey Copeland of Kansas City, MO; brother Lance Corporal Doug Copeland USMC; maternal grandparents George and Joyce Ridens of Norwood, MO; paternal grandmother Vera Copeland and her husband David Andrews; and by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Duane W. Copeland, and his cousin Patricia Elynn Dugger.
