Garry Copenhaver, 51, of Grain Valley, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016. A visitation will be held from 6:00 –9:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO, 64055. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the chapel. Garry was born on May 31, 1964 in Kansas City, MO to Bruce and Deloras Copenhaver. He married his loving wife, Brenda, on July 5, 2004. He was a hard worker at Ford Motor Company’s Claycomo plant. In his spare time he enjoyed riding his Harley, guns, WWII memorabilia, airplanes and playing games with his son. Most of all, Garry enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, as well as his extended family and friends. Garry will be remembered by his wife, Brenda, of the home; his children Cassondra Copenhaver and William Copenhaver both of Grain Valley, MO; brother Fred Copenhaver of Kearney, MO; sister Gayle Tustison and husband James of Blue Springs, MO; brother Greg Copenhaver and wife Penny of Odessa, MO; sister Gloria Copenhaver of Kearney, MO; several in-laws, nieces, and nephews including Heather Cornwell who held a special spot in his heart. He will also be remembered by his dogs Max and Starr. Garry was preceded in death by his parents; nephew Aaron Overman; and sister Gina Overman.
