Jack Grant Corbin

Jack G Corbin, age 66, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 surrounded by his family. Services for Jack will be 2 pm, Monday, Feb. 27 at Speaks Suburban Chapel on 18020 East 39th St S, Independence, MO 64055 with Pastor Don Canfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Springs Cemetery in Blue Springs, Missouri. Visitation will be 1-2 pm, Monday before the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave, Kansas City, MO 64105.
Jack retired from Armco Steel and transferred into a life as a lumber truck driver which allowed him to use a personality that was definitely one of a kind. When Jack met a stranger, they didn't stay strangers long. He was quick to tell you all about his time as a star football player, or how he just missed the biggest buck in the county, and no matter how far fetched and unbelievable the story may have seemed, you couldn't help but listen to him tell the story. And if you happened to miss part of the story, you could be sure that he'd be telling the same story (if not slightly more exaggerated) shortly.
In his spare time, Jack loved all things outdoors, hunting and fishing with his best friend, spending time with his family, and popularizing his famous 'sidewinder' dance move any chance he could get.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Gloria Corbin; along with three children; Mark (Denise) Corbin of Grain Valley, Missouri, Tracy (Clint) Meredith of Fairway, Kansas, and Linda (Steve) Moberg of Blue Springs, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, Kirsten. Kennedy, and Kaitlyn; and many other loving relatives.
