Corey Matthew Gomez, Jr. “CJ”, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. A visitation will take place from 1-2pm with a service following at 2pm on Saturday, September 23^rd at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39^th St.: Independence, MO 64055.

CJ was born on June 16, 2022, to Corey and Christina (North) Gomez. Although he spent the first 6 months of his life in the NICU, CJ was a little warrior, touched many lives and was deeply loved by those around him.

CJ is survived by his parents, Corey and Christina; sister, Aaliyah, paternal grandparents, Don and Tina Johnson; maternal grandparents, Kevin and Jennifer Kincheloe; aunts, Carmen Kincheloe and Dani Coleman; great grandfather, Arthur North and great grandmother, Carol Steele; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that loved him so much.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Glenda North, Peggy Kimble, Terry Kimble, Richard Gomez, and Donald Johnson, Sr.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to help cover funeral and final expenses.
