Tom Corteville, 37, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, January 10th at Liberty Hospital. Memorial services will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 15th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Friday, January 14th at the chapel. Cremation to follow visitation with interment in Floral Hills Cemetery at a later date. Tom was born August 21, 1967 in Kansas City, MO to William P. and Drucella (Matykiewicz) Corteville. Tom loved life, never meeting a stranger, possessing a great sense of humor. He was a devoted husband and doting father to his girls. He loved spending time watching his daughters play softball. Tom worked as a welder for the Harley Davidson Plant. He had a passion for collecting and restoring cars and had planned to retire with his wife in Hawaii where they could snorkel together. Tom is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jacque (McDonald) and daughters Olivia and Elizabeth, all of the home; his parents Bill and Dru Corteville of Independence, MO; sister Pam Minor and brother Bill Corteville; in-laws Clint and Rosie McDonald of Lincoln, NE; brother and sister-in-law Scott and Kathy McDonald; sister and brother-in-law Karmen and Ronnie Smith; grandmother Gladys Sampson; special friends Art and Dana Petonke; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a multitude of friends. Tom is also survived by his "little man�, Ozzy the dog.
