Joseph Anthony Cottone, 82 of Independence, MO, passed away, Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 21, 2016 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Joseph was born February 6, 1934 in Kansas City, MO to Frank and Patricia (Bertuglia) Cottone and has been a lifelong area resident. He had worked for over 20 years in the maintenance department for the US Postal Service in Kansas City, MO. He was married to Josephine (Rigdon) on February 1, 1956; she survives of the home. Other survivors include: a daughter, Victoria “Vicky” Wray and her husband Richard of Independence, MO and 3 grandchildren, Natasha Wray, Jeffrey Remington and Lita Cottone.
