Josephine Lee Cottone (Rigdon)

Josephine Lee Cottone, 82 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Carmel Hill Living Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 9:30 a.m., until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Josephine was born December 9, 1934 in Kansas City, MO to George Michael and Laura Elizabeth Rigdon and has been a lifelong area resident. She had worked for over 40 years at the US Post Office in Kansas City, MO. She enjoyed traveling and working in her yard. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Survivors include; a daughter, Vicky Wray and husband Richard of Independence, MO; 3 grandchildren, Natasha Marie Wray, Lita Marie Cottone and Jeffrey Donald Remington and a great grandson, Elijah Eugene Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Cottone in November of 2016 and a son, Frank Michael Cottone.
