Carrie Cottrell- Wilkinson

Carrie Lee Cottrell Wilkinson, 87, of Rexburg, ID died January 22, 2011. Memorial services will held at 11a.m, Saturday, Feb 19, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Homestead Assisted Living, 408 W. Main, Rexburg, ID 83440.
Carrie Lee was born September 16, 1923 in Kansas City, MO to Charles and Bertha (Mentor) Harger. After graduation from East High School, she attended secretarial school and later graduated from Kansas City Community College. She taught business classes at Longview Community College where she was recognized as “Teacher of the Year” for her work with underprivileged students.
She was married to William H. (Doc) Cottrell for 45 years, until his death in 1987, and raised three sons. Carrie Lee was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Raytown where she and her husband were active in teaching Sunday School to high school students, college students, and young married couples. She had a strong love for her God, her Church, her family, and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
Carrie Lee was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her second husband, Charles Wilkinson. She is survived by sons Will Cottrell and wife Suzanne, Lake Tahoe, CA; Douglas Cottrell and wife Patty, Rexburg, ID; Mike Cottrell and wife Leah, Independence, MO; Dana Cottrell, Carol Brinkerhoff, six grandsons and three great grandsons.
