Richard Allen Couch, 59, Blue Springs, MO, passed away Aug. 25, 2006 following a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006 at the Noland Road Baptist Church; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm, Monday at Speaks Suburban Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Richard was born in Chillicothe, MO to Leonard and Edna Couch. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1969 with a degree in Accounting. Richard was a partner of the local accounting firm Herfordt, Shelton, Mertens and Couch since 1975. As a C.P.A., Rich served on the Litigation Support Committee of the Missouri Society of C.P.A.�s, and is a past board member of the KC Chapter of the National Association of Financial Planners. He was a member of the American Institute of C.P.A.�s, the Missouri Society of C.P.A.�s, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and the Missouri Tax Practitioners� Association. Rich was very involved in the community serving as a member of the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce and as the Commissioner on the Blue Springs Planning Commission. He was an Eagle Scout.
Rich is survived by his wife of 30 years, Donna Couch, and their three children: Bradley and wife Amanda, Stephanie, and Cindy; and in-laws Jack & Thelma Shreve; and uncle Fred Stephens and wife Joan. Rich will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend to all that knew him.
