Christine Lynn Cox, 55, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015. A Celebration of Life will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Christine was born on February 16, 1960 in Kansas City, KS to Robert Dorries and Cleona (Norton) Helms. She was an Early Education Specialist for the Independence School District for over 30 years. Christine enjoyed gardening, collecting thimbles, and most importantly her family. She was very proud to be called “Mimi” by her 3 grandchildren, and loved spending all the time she could with her family. 4th of July was her favorite holiday, and she will be truly missed this holiday as she always went out of her way to make it special for those around her. Christine was a member of the MSTA for many years. Survivors include; sons, Troy Cox, Darren (Jennifer) Cox, David Cox and Trever Cox; sister Denise Robinson; brother Jim Dorries; 3 grandchildren, Cheyenne, Savanah and Dakota; and a large extended family.
