Marion A. "Bud" Cox

Marion A. "Bud� Cox, 74, of Independence, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at St. Luke�s Hospital. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. Burial in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Bud was born May 12, 1932 in Independence, MO to William E. and Bessie Mary (Sandage) Cox. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a 32nd Degree Mason for 50 years.. Mr. Cox was an avid sports and baseball fan, having played for the San Diego Padres in the mid 50�s. He loved his family dearly and lived for his grandchildren. Bud could always be found with a crossword puzzle in his hand. Bud is survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia (Middleton) Cox of the home; son Terry Cox and wife Angela of Springfield, MO; daughter-in-law Kay Cox ; grandchildren Sara, Tyler, Andrew Cox all of Independence, MO, Shannon and Connor Cox of Springfield, MO; brother-in-law Larry Middleton. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his son Tim Cox in January 2006.
