Robert Larry “Trey” Cox III, 29 of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Research Medical Center from injuries he received in a car accident. Cremation is planned with private family services to be held at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. An informal celebration of Trey’s life will be hosted by his parents and held at a later date. Trey was born July 25, 1990 in Shawnee, KS to Robert L. and Lisa (Miller) Cox II and he has been a longtime area resident. He graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 2009 at had attended Oral Roberts University where he played basketball. He had also played basketball overseas in Croatia, Barcelona and Australia. He was a fun loving person who enjoyed playing basketball, boating and spending time at the lake. He had worked as a roofing estimator for Aspen Construction. He was a active member of Faith Ministries and had done mission work. Survivors include; his parents Bobby and Lisa Cox of Lee’s Summit, MO; a sister Nicole Ellis and husband Mark of Freeman, MO and their 2 children, Eleanor and Eeve; his girlfriend, Jennifer Govero of St. Louis, MO; his mater grandfather, Gerald Miller and his wife Kathy of St. Louis, MO and his aunts and uncles, Dean Cox (Bryan McQueen) Brian Cox (Sheri), Dana Bundy (Robert) and Cathy Ball (Larry). He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Deanna Cox and Rosella J. Miller.
