Rose Mary Cox, 64, of Independence, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 11th from 1-2:00pm with a memorial service following at 2:00p.m., both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St. Independence, MO 64055. Interment will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. Rose was born April 19th, 1954 in Kansas City, MO. She was an active member of Church of Christ Temple Lot and served for several years as Business Office Manager at Villages of Jackson Creek. Rose had a tremendous sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Gerald Cox; her daughter, Sarah Burnett of Sugar Creek, her son David Cox and his finance, Nicole, of Blue Springs; grandchildren, Kurtis, Sophia, Jayda and Kyla; 5 step-children; 9 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great grandchildren; as well as her three sisters, Patricia McGhee and her husband, Michael, of Independence, Loraine Degner of Huntsville, TX, and Sr. Mary Chaudet of St. Louis, MO. Rose is preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Tyler Rose; a step-son, Kenny Cox, and a step-grand-daughter, Jennifer Cox. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rose’s name to the American Cancer Society.
