Nancy Jo Cramer (Greef)

Nancy Jo Greef Stovall Cramer, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Independence, Missouri, on Sunday, January 17, 2021. She was born to Charles and Mary Greef on July, 20, 1931 in Canton, Ohio.
Nancy grew up in Denton Texas. She graduated in 1952 from the University of Missouri – Columbia with a BA in Journalism and English honors. She was an elementary teacher for 18 year in the Hickman Mills School District then became a school counselor. She served as a judge for the Science Pioneers Annual Science and Engineering Fair over 35 years.
Nancy was married for 16 years to John Norman Stovall, the father of her four children. Later in life she then married Harold Cramer and they spent 20 years together. After his death, Nancy assumed ownership of his fire suppression business, Modern Supply Company. She operated this company with the help of her son, Jeff, until she retired in 2010.
For the last 10 years, Nancy fulfilled her dream of professional writing, penning numerous articles and short stories along with publishing five books commemorating various aspects of World War I.
In 2013, Nancy met her loving companion, Niel Johnson, and they spent the last seven years pursuing similar interests, particularly writing.
She is preceded in death by her son, John Edward Stovall and survived by two daughters, Sara M. Hodges (Stan) and Nancy C. Hanson (Brian); one son, Jefferson P. Stovall (JoAnne); stepdaughters Roberta Luke, Rebecca Crenshaw, and Carolyn Zillner; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
A service of remembrance will be held on January 28th, 2:00 p.m., at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. S., Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice is preferred.
