Donald  Lee  Crawford

Donald L. Crawford, 80, Grain Valley, MO passed away Sept. 18, 2017. Services will be 2 pm, Sunday, Sept. 24 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; private interment at Forest Hill Cemetery. Don was born July 4, 1937 in California, MO and graduated from high school there. He joined the U. S. Air Force after graduation. He worked at Southwestern Bell and later Lucent Technologies for over twenty-five years and retired from there. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and was a woodworker who made wooden pens for many people. He was a member of the Ararat Shrine. Don is survived by his wife of sixty-years Sylvia Crawford of the home; daughters Dianne Bridges, Norfolk, VA; Donna Sippell, Independence, MO; sister Ada Neuman and sons, Nebraska; granddaughters Crystal Bridges, Nicole Logan and Alyss Sippell; and great-grandson Xavier
